Nine regular season home games and a three-game road trip in Hawaii highlight the 2021 schedule for the South Dakota State University women’s soccer team.

The Jackrabbits, who compiled a 12-0-5 record solely against Summit League competition during an abbreviated season this past spring, are scheduled to kick off the fall slate with a pair of home exhibition matches at Fishback Soccer Park. SDSU is set to host Kansas State on Aug. 12, followed by an Aug. 15 matchup with Drake.

Regular season action begins Aug. 20 versus Augustana, with the weekend homestand concluding Aug. 22 against UT Rio Grande Valley.

The Hawaii trip will feature three games in five days and begins Aug. 27 with a neutral-site matchup versus Idaho State. The Jackrabbits will then face Hawaii (Aug. 29) and Hawaii Pacific (Sept. 1) to conclude the tour.

Upon their return to the mainland, the Jackrabbits are scheduled to take on Creighton in a Sept. 3 matinee in Omaha, Nebraska.

SDSU resumes home action with weekend matches Spt. 10 against Northern Iowa and Sept. 12 versus Morningside. The Jackrabbits conclude their three-game homestand with a Sept. 17 match against Northern Illinois.

The Jackrabbits’ final nonconference matchup of the season is set for Sept. 20 at Air Force.

Summit League play begins in early October with the Jackrabbits hosting Western Illinois (Oct. 1) and newcomer St. Thomas (Oct. 3). SDSU’s other Summit League homestand is slated for Oct. 15 and 17 against North Dakota State and North Dakota, respectively.

Season tickets for Jackrabbit soccer are $40 each and will go on sale July 6. Plans call for seating at Fishback Soccer Park to be at full capacity for the 2021 season.

The remainder of the nine-game Summit League schedule will be played away from home, starting with games Oct. 8 at Kansas City and Oct. 10 at Oral Roberts. The Jackrabbits close the regular season with three consecutive road matches: Oct. 24 at South Dakota, Oct. 29 at Omaha and Oct. 31 at defending Summit League champion Denver.

Should the Jackrabbits finish in the top four of the league standings, they would return to Denver Nov. 4-6 for the Summit League Women’s Soccer Championship. SDSU has qualified for the league tournament each of the last eight seasons and 12 of 13 seasons since joining The Summit League at the start of the 2008 campaign.
