SIOUX FALLS – The South Dakota State track and field program won 10 titles as competition wrapped up Saturday at the 92nd Howard Wood Dakota Relays in Sioux Falls.
Both the men's and women's 4x400-relay teams won titles. On the women's side, Savannah Dolezal, Vanessa Lane, Kayla McDonald and Oksana Covey finished in 3:46.14 for first place. The men’s team of Anthony Bachmeier, Marc Husman, Adam Belhaj and Dru Kenny combined to take the title in 3:15.33.
Kyle Burdick took first place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:45.69
In the women's discus throw, Kasie Vollmer took the crown with a throw of 147-4. Silvia Zanini finished second with a throw of 147-0.
Bryant Courter won the title in the men's long jump, posting a mark of 22-8 1/2. Caleb Cowling finished second in the event with a jump of 22-6 1/2.
Kayla Neff finished third in the women's long jump recording a mark of 17 feet, 1/2 inch.
In the men's shot put, Kyle Anderson took fourth place with a distance of 51-1.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Marissia Hagedorn recorded a time of 14.42 to finish in second place. Jaymie O'Connor placed fourth with a time of 14.83.
