BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University officials, in conjunction with First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard, announced the return of a major concert as Jacks Bash 2 is scheduled for Sept. 8 at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.

Zac Brown Band and Fall Out Boy will headline the event, which is set to occur five years to the day after the initial Jacks Bash opened Dykhouse Stadium in 2016.

Ticket information will be released soon.

“We are excited to celebrate five years of success in this incredible stadium,” Justin Sell, SDSU director of athletics, said. “We are primed for an unbelievable year, and to kick it off with this epic event will be special. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring Jackrabbits back this fall and celebrate the bright futures of our university and our athletic program.”

First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard are the exclusive sponsors of Jacks Bash 2. First Premier Bank CEO Dana Dykhouse said the event will be a celebration for the state of South Dakota, SDSU and the 2,300 Premier employees.

“During the past year, our state’s health care workers and teachers worked tirelessly to ensure students were able to attend classes in the face of COVID-19,” said Dykhouse, a 1979 SDSU graduate and former student-athlete. “SDSU has had tremendous success in recruitment and fundraising efforts. And our Premier employees have shown a tremendous commitment to serving our customers and communities. All of these things combined are a great reason to throw a big party this fall.”

Zac Brown Band is a multiplatinum, Grammy Award-winning southern rock group that has produced eight No. 1 singles and 16 top-10 songs on the Billboard charts. Pop-punk/rock band Fall Out Boy has released four No. 1 albums and compiled four Billboard top-10 hits.

Nearly 23,000 people attended the inaugural Jacks Bash in 2016. SDSU will ensure that proper COVID-19 protocols are followed for Jacks Bash 2.
