BROOKINGS – South Dakota State picked up their second Summit League win of the season Sunday when they topped North Dakota 3-1.
SDSU won the first set 25-17 and then dropped the second one 25-15. The Jacks bounced back and won sets three and four each by the score of 25-22.
Crystal Burk led the way for SDSU with 18 kills and 13 digs. Ashlynn Smith had 11 kills, 11 digs and three blocks. Madison Fay had a team-high 27 assists and Makenzie Hennen had eight kills. Carly Wedel had 17 assists. Tori Thompson and Anna Nerad each had four blocks.
Lexi Ahrens led the Fighting Hawks with 16 kills. Ashley Brueggeman 12 kills and 14 digs. Julia Vetter had a team-high 35 assists and Darian Chwialkowski led UND with 33 digs.
The Jacks had 53 kills on the day to the Fighting Hawks 42. Each team had five aces and SDSU had 50 assists. UND had 38.
The Jacks will finish their three-game home stand Friday when they host Purdue Fort Wayne at 7 p.m.
