BROOKINGS – South Dakota State volleyball coach Nicole Cirillo announced Monday that Megan Jensen has joined the program for the 2017 season.

"Megan has experience in both the front and back row, which will help add to our depth in those positions," Cirillo said. "Having Megan this spring allows her to not only get in the gym with the team, but also be a part of the building and learning process that I and the team go through in preparations for the fall."

Jensen will be a sophomore at SDSU. She played the 2016 season at Iowa Lakes Community College, helping the Lakers to a 31-12 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. The 5-foot-9 outside hitter earned second team All-Region XI-A and second team all-conference honors.

The Estherville, Iowa, native started 42 of 43 matches and averaged 3.41 kills and 3.74 digs per set. She was ranked 11th nationally with 515 kills.

At Estherville Lincoln Central High School, Jensen finished her career with 520 kills, including 276 as a senior for 4.31 kills per set. She earned first team All-Lakes Conference honors as a senior and second team as a junior while helping the Midgets to two state tournaments.
