SDSU women tie for eighth at Payne Stewart

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The South Dakota State women’s golf team shot 922 (310-304-308) and tied for eighth out of 15 teams in the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial, which concluded Tuesday at the 6,008-yard, par-71 Twin Oaks Country Club.

Memphis won by 14 strokes with an 874 (293-287-294) total. The Tigers’ Michaela Fletcher was medalist with a 1-under-par 212 (72-69-71) total, giving her a six-shot victory.

Cassidy Laidlaw led the Jackrabbits, tying for 11th with a 224 (74-78-72) total. Sydney Bormann (76-71-78—225) tied for 15th, Natcha Srimaneerungroj (76-73-80—229) tied for 32nd, Magda Kruger (84-84-78—246) took 74th and Brooke Piearson (85-82-87—254) tied for 86th.

SDSU returns to action Sept. 26-27 at the Coeur d’Alene (Idaho) Resort Collegiate Invitational.
