SDSU women top Westmont, 7-2; upended by Riverside, 5-2

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The South Dakota State women's tennis team topped Westmont College, 7-2 on Thursday afternoon at the Abbot Tennis Courts.

Molly Crum and Maria Laura Velazco claimed the first point for the Jacks with an 8-3 decision at No. 2 doubles.

The duo of Iasmin Rosa and Morgan Brower defeated Isabel Lee and Cade Pierson, 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.

Laura Romero and Emilly Van Dijk won their match with an 8-3 mark at No. 3 for a sweep in doubles.

Romero upended Sienna Verdult, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles for the first singles win of the day.

Van Dijk followed behind with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6.

Rosa captured her seventh win on the season with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 1.

Crum rounded out the singles wins at No. 4 with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 decision.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The South Dakota State women's tennis team fell to UC Riverside 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Courts.

Rosa and Brower topped Karla Dulay and Natalie Penner 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, but it wasn't enough as the Highlanders won the doubles point.

Rosa defeated Karla Dulay, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

Romero beat Natalie Penner, 6-7, 7-6, 10-7 at No. 5 singles.
