The South Dakota State wrestling team is ranked 15th in a preseason poll conducted by FloWrestling.org.

The Jackrabbits are scheduled to wrestle in dual competition against six other programs in the FloWrestling poll. Five of the six matches are slated to be contested at Frost Arena, starting with a Nov. 17 meeting against ninth-ranked Minnesota. Other nonconference duals with ranked opponents are Dec. 8 versus 16th-ranked Central Michigan and Jan. 5 versus No. 20 Oregon State.

Big 12 Conference rival Wyoming is ranked 19th and will visit the Jackrabbits Jan. 18, while conference newcomer Northern Iowa is tabbed 11th and will wrestle at SDSU Jan. 21.

Fellow Big 12 Conference member Oklahoma State is ranked fourth, but the Jackrabbits and Cowboys are not scheduled to meet in dual action this season.

The lone road dual against a preseason top-20 opponent is Nov. 26 at seventh-ranked Arizona State.

A trio of Big Ten Conference teams hold the top three spots in the preseason poll. Defending national champion Penn State is first, followed by Ohio State and Michigan.

Individually, four Jackrabbits are ranked in their respective weight classes. Returning national runner-up Seth Gross is the top-ranked wrestler at 133 pounds, while fellow national qualifers Luke Zilverberg (18th at 157), David Kocer (11th at 174) and Nate Rotert (ninth at 197) also appear in the preseason rankings.
