BROOKINGS, – South Dakota State University’s College of Nursing has been named to Nursing Schools Almanac list of top 100 nursing schools. The college was 97th nationally and 51st among public nursing schools.
According to Nursing Schools Almanac, “South Dakota State University made our list of the top 100 nursing schools because of its strong performance across all three dimensions of our rankings: academic value, program breadth and depth and student success.
“First, SDSU students have a very low default rate on their student loans, typically just 2-5 percent in recent years. This demonstrates a significant ROI on their tuition dollars.
“The College of Nursing’s programs run the full gamut of professional nursing, including three BSN pathways, three MSN specializations and both terminal doctoral degrees.
“BSN students have scored an impressive 92 or higher percent pass rate on the NCLEX licensure exam over the past decade. Graduate students have performed consistently at 100 percent on advanced practice certification exams.”
“SDSU College of Nursing has made many advances in providing a college education, for the best value, for our students,” said Roberta Olson, the college’s interim dean. “This news is a reflection on all of the hard work the faculty invest and will continue to do to deliver quality nursing education to students whether they’re pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.”
