SIOUX FALLS — South Dakota State right-hander Jake Goble was honored as TicketSmarter Summit League Baseball Peak Pitcher of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

A sophomore from Rapid City, Goble pitched a career-high six innings in his first career start, March 15 at Saint Louis. He was credited with the victory after striking out four and walking two, limiting the Billikens to one earned run. Saint Louis entered the contest having won 10 of its last 11 games and averaging 9.3 runs per game in that span.

The Jackrabbits are scheduled to open Summit League play this weekend with a three-game series against Northern Colorado. The series has been moved to Golden, Colorado, due to unplayable field conditions as the Bears’ home field .
