SIOUX FALLS – Katherine Jones registered points in back-to-back victories for South Dakota State and for her efforts was selected as the TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Soccer Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, the conference announced Monday. The honor for Jones is the first of her collegiate career.

Jones scored her first goal of the season and got SDSU on the board with a seventh minute goal versus Drake on Thursday. Her tally served as the eventual game winner in a 1-0 triumph over the Bulldogs.

In Sunday’s contest against Kansas State, Jones had an assist on Cece Limongi’s 65th minute goal that contributed to the Jackrabbits’ 2-0 victory over the Wildcats.

The Woodbury, Minn., native combined to play 135 minutes over the course of the two games at her midfield position. Jones’s three points over the two-game span were her first this year.

South Dakota State (6-0-3) is set to begin Summit League play on Saturday. The Jackrabbits will host South Dakota at 6 p.m. in Brookings as part of the SD Showdown Series at Fishback Soccer Park.
