SDSU’s Sydney Bormann again honored for academics

For the second consecutive year, South Dakota State junior Sydney Bormann was honored as a Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar. 

Bormann, with a 4.0 GPA in biology, posted a 76.39 stroke average as a sophomore on a Jackrabbit team that finished third in the Summit League Championship.

The Parkston native was one of three Jackrabbits to compete in all 31 rounds. She won the Lady Thunderbird Invitational and collected two top-five finishes.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team includes a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. A total of 1,011 student-athletes, including 22 from the Summit League, were honored this year.
