SDSU’s Wynn to hold senior art exhibit in March

BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University senior Naomi Wynn will display her Bachelor of Fine Arts thesis exhibition March 15-25 at Grove Hall’s Ritz Gallery on campus.

Her exhibition, “The Next Chapter,” will include paintings and digital drawings filled with bold colors and ties to her African American culture.

“They hold a significant place in my heart because these pieces are ones that I’m proud of,” Wynn said. “I’ve enjoyed the process of figuring out what my subject will be, the color pallets and creating a story around them.”

A senior studio art major with a specialization in painting, she is the daughter of Jason Wynn of Youngstown, Ohio, and Velma Wynn of Surprise, Arizona. A 2017 graduate of Douglas High School in Box Elder, Wynn is a member of the SDSU track and field team and is president of the Black Student Alliance.

The public exhibition will be on display in the Ritz Gallery of Grove Hall at SDSU, located south of the SDSU Student Union between Mathews and Brown dormitories. Admission is free. The Ritz Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed weekends and holidays). Parking is available in the University Student Union lot.
