BRIDGEWATER – The Cossacks struggled offensively Friday night, falling 41-8 on the road against Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan.
Brady Hawkins led BEE with 16 rushes for 185 yards and a touchdown. Jonah Hofer also had a big game for the Seahawks with 42 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also had two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
Hofer scored on a 2-yard run to make it 6-0 with 4:48 left in the first quarter. Hawkins then ran one in from 6 yards out to make it 13-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Hofer made it 20-0 with 7:26 left in the second quarter with a 4-yard touchdown run. That would be BEE’s only points of the quarter.
Grant Andrews had a 4-yard touchdown with 7:11 left in the third quarter and Hofer had a 70-yard pick-six with 5:45 left in the quarter to make it 34-0. Andrews then tacked on a 3-yard touchdown run right before the end of the quarter to make it 40-0.
Sioux Valley finally got on the board with 5:31 left in the game when Parker Puetz threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Jaxton Schiller. Puetz was 12-of-20 for 174 yards, but had three interceptions.
The Seahawks outrushed the Cossacks 312-11 on the night. Carson Christopher led Sioux Valley with 11 tackles and Ashton Bultje had 10. Tyler Kjetland had seven tackles for BEE and Brady Hawkins had six.
The Cossacks will host Flandreau for homecoming next Friday at 7 p.m. The Seahawks will travel to Mt. Vernon to face Mt. Vernon/Plankinton.
