Second annual Jackrabbit Tipoff is Oct. 17

BROOKINGS – South Dakota State basketball returns to Frost Arena Oct. 17 with the second annual Jackrabbit Tipoff, presented by Outlaw Graphics giving fans their first chance to meet the 2017-18 men's and women's Jackrabbit basketball squads.

The event, free for all fans, begins at 7 p.m. inside Frost Arena and features team introductions, video features and one-on-one interviews with players and coaches. Additionally, student-athletes will take part in 3-point and slam dunk challenges and the Jackrabbit shootout.

The slam dunk contest will be judged by select Rabbit Den members, season ticket holders and head men's coach T.J. Otzelberger.

After the event, the teams will welcome fans to the court for an autograph session, where a limited amount of schedule posters will be available. Fans are encouraged to bring one item to be autographed as well.

The Jackrabbit Tipoff will be emceed for the second-straight year by SDSU student Hannah Nieman and her father, SDSU alum and current Midco Sports broadcaster Tom Nieman.
