BUSHNELL – An Elkton man was injured when his semi rolled over near Bushnell, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident was reported at 12:53 p.m. Thursday and occurred on 478th Avenue, a half-mile north of Highway 14 near Bushnell, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

Jeffrey Paul Weber, 54, of Elkton, was driving a 2015 International semi-truck and 2016 grain trailer south on 478th Avenue “when the semi-truck drifted over onto the west shoulder of the road,” Sebring said.

“The driver attempted to pull the vehicle back onto the roadway and the trailer tires entered the west ditch, which pulled the tractor into the ditch where it rolled over onto its side,” Sebring said.

“Weber was transported by the Brookings Ambulance to the Brookings hospital emergency room with unknown injures,” he said.

The truck and trailer sustained $45,000 in damages, Sebring said.

Also responding was the Aurora Fire Department.

The accident is under investigation with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, he added.
