Sharon Jean Johnson, 67, of Estelline died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center. 

Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Dempster Cemetery in Dempster. A time of visitation will be held from 5 until 7p.m. today at the Geise Funeral Chapel in Estelline.

Sharon Jean Johnson was born on May 27, 1950, to John “Fred” and Alice (Mennenga) Johnson in Estelline. She grew up in the Estelline area, attending Wattnem Country School and graduating from Estelline High School in 1968. Sharon worked at the Red Carpet Lounge in Estelline and then she and Curtis Foster farmed in rural Bruce for many years.  

She was an animal lover and enjoyed taking care of all animals needing a home. Together they enjoyed attending local sporting events, rodeos, and watching NASCAR.  Sharon was a very loving, kindhearted and caring person. She devoted much of her life to taking care of family and friends.

She is survived by her brother, Gary (Amaine) Johnson of Estelline; two nieces; three nephews; and a host of friends and relatives. 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; longtime companion, Curtis Foster; and two brothers, Duane Johnson and his wife Bonnie, and Robert “Bob” Johnson.
