BUSHNELL – A shed and equipment stored there were destroyed in an early morning fire Tuesday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The fire was reported at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday near 211th Street and 480th Avenue. It involved a metal farm shed east of Bushnell, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

“It is believed that the cause of the fire was electrical in nature,” Sebring said.

“The shed was a total loss. A 1990s model 3150 John Deere loader, a 1980s model Case skid steer, a 1970s camper, a 1980s Kawasaki motorcycle, hunting equipment, and several tools were lost in the fire,” he said.

The total loss is estimated at $60,000.

The fire is under investigation with the Aurora Fire Department and Brookings County Sheriff’s Office. Also responding were the Elkton Fire Department and Elkton Ambulance.
