ELKTON – A Sioux Falls man was airlifted after a rollover accident this weekend, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident was reported at 7:10 a.m. Sunday and occurred on Highway 13 near North Drive in Elkton, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

Kevin Michael Davis, 23, of Sioux Falls, was driving a 2018 Nissan Altima eastbound on Highway 13, he said.

“He went off the road into the south ditch and rolled, coming to rest on the south side of the railroad tracks. The driver was transported to the Brookings hospital and later airlifted to Avera hospital in Sioux Falls with unknown injuries,” Sebring said.

The vehicle was a total loss, he added.

“Alcohol was a factor in the crash and the driver Kevin Michael Davis will be facing charges of DUI, and careless driving,” Sebring said.

Also responding was the Elkton Ambulance.

The accident is under the investigation with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
