Sioux Valley goes 0-3 at quadrangular

VOLGA – Howard posted a 3-0 record on Tuesday at the Sioux Valley Quadrangular as the Tigers defeated Mt. Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney, 59-9; downed the host Cossacks, 70-3; and then beat Marion/Freeman, 69-12.

MVPCS finished 2-1 with a 56-15 win over Marion/Freeman and a 59-6 decision over Sioux Valley as Marion/Freeman defeated the Cossacks, 41-18, to finish 1-2.

In the match against MVPCS, Joe Honick’s win by forfeit at 145 pounds accounted for Sioux Valley’s only points.

In the only matches wrestled, Brandon Bosworth won by a 16-0 technical fall at 106 and Hunter Pranger won by fall in 1:22 over Caleb Elijah at 138.

Against Howard, Hornick won a 3-2 decision over Gabriel Turpin at 145 while Knutson dropped a 9-1 major decision to Jack Neisis at 106 and Elijah lost by fall in 41 seconds to Paul Winker at 132.

In the Marion/Freeman match, Knutson (106), Dylan Strouth (113) and Hornick (152) won by forfeit as Ethan Ortman won by a 21-4 technical fall over Elijah at 132 in the only match wrestled.

The Cossacks travel to Parker on Thursday for another quadrangular.
