BROOKINGS – Rep. Jamie Smith, minority leader of the South Dakota House, will give a virtual legislative preview at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, via Zoom. This replaces the presentation by Sen. Reynold Nesiba scheduled for the same day and time at the Brookings Public Library.
“Smith will give a response to the governor’s speech Tuesday, which laid out a conservative agenda for the Legislature this session that includes banning abortion and restricting transgender rights as well as limiting one-time money for projects,” a press release from the Brookings County Democrats says. “Smith will also talk about the extra money the state will have from COVID relief funds and how to allocate it.”
The event, sponsored by the Brookings County Democrats, is free and open to the public. Attendees can access the presentation from this website: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83042778837?pwd=TzZ3eGcrTXQ0bTdnS2ZaeEtGdWlKUT09
