BROOKINGS – The Brookings Convention & Visitors Bureau continues another summer of Downtown at Sundown.

Tonight’s performance features local opener Maple Street. The group of six travel the Midwest area performing bluegrass and rock hits. This week’s headliner is Soca Jukebox. Enjoy your own personal oasis, complete with beach vibes and reggae tunes as this five-piece ensemble plays on the steel drums all night. This entertaining group will have you dancing the night away.

Downtown at Sundown is held from 5-9 p.m. every Thursday night on Fifth Street in downtown Brookings and features local musicians, regional headliners, free face painting, inflatables, bag toss, and food and beverage vendors from local restaurants. The series runs through the end of summer with the final festival taking place on Aug. 23.

The event is open to all ages, and admission is free. The kid zone inflatables, face painting and bag toss are all free. Tickets must be purchased at the ticket booth to buy food and beverages. Each vendor is serving something different, ranging in price from one to seven tickets.

The Downtown at Sundown schedule for the rest of the summer includes: Aug. 2, Whosah; Aug. 9, Avenger Joe; Aug. 16, Kirsten Thien; and Aug. 23: Nathan Dean and the Damn Band.
