South Dakota State blanks Omaha


BROOKINGS – South Dakota State pushed its unbeaten streak to six matches, beating Omaha 1-0 in Summit League women’s soccer action Friday night at Fishback Soccer Complex for its fourth consecutive victory.

Jennie Scislow scored on an assist from Leah Manuleleua in the 80th minute for the lone goal.

The Jackrabbits dominated statistically, out-shooting the Mavericks 20-2, including an 11-1 advantage on goal.

Maggie Smither made one save to earn the shutout win.

Tori Poole finished with six shots, including two on goal. Scislow and Manuleleua both had four shots, including two on goal.

Haley Johnson stopped 10 shots for UNO (4-7-1, 1-1-0).

SDSU (6-4-3, 2-0-0) is off until Sunday, Oct. 15, when it heads to Macomb, Ill., to face Western Illinois in a 1 p.m. matchup.
