PIERRE – South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks is hosting events this Saturday for kids and adults alike. The events offer a variety of opportunities to spend time outdoors.

“Frogs!” will be held at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Lakes State Park near Bruce.

How do frogs get their food? How do they make their different sounds? Learn more about frogs and play as a frog while trying to eat “bugs.”

For more information, call 627-5441.

Also, a meteor shower night hike will be held at 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Poinsett Recreation Area near Arlington. The event will begin at the amphitheater.

Participants will learn more about nocturnal animals and how they thrive in dark environments. When it gets dark, participants will take a hike on the trails to the darkest part and see if candy can spark in the dark and then head to an open area to see if they can see any of the meteors.

Park licenses are required for each event.
