Steve Cadotte, 49, of Flandreau, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. on Friday at Eastman Hall in Flandreau with burial in First Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday at Eastman Hall with a wake service.

Steve Cadotte was born on Aug. 11, 1968, in Flandreau to Gilbert and Wanda (Robertson) Cadotte. He started his early education in Flandreau and graduated from Marty Indian School in 1987. Steve moved to the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in 1989 and lived at Fort Yates, North Dakota. He returned to Flandreau in 1991. He had a daughter, Taylor, with Jennifer Fyten in 1993. Steven cooked at the Flandreau Indian School from 1991 until 1996. He continued his education at Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls from 1997 to 1998 and became a truck driver. Steve was currently working for Winter Inc. in Brookings hauling ready mix concrete and truly enjoyed his job. In his spare time he enjoyed playing horseshoes, shooting a game of pool, and playing drums. He loved spending time with his grandson, AJ “rawhide.”

Steve is survived by his daughter, Taylor Cadotte of Flandreau; a grandson; mother, Wanda Cadotte of Flandreau; siblings, Carol Seward, Benjamin, Tim and Gilbert Cadotte  all of Flandreau; and many nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert “Gib” Cadotte; his grandparents, Benjamin and Rose Cadotte and Howard and Catherine Robertson.
