BROOKINGS – The Brookings Street Department installed stop signs Friday on 13th Avenue at its intersections with Fourth and Fifth streets. The signs on Fourth Street stop the north/southbound traffic, and the signs on Fifth Street stop the east/westbound traffic.

“The two-way stop signs were recommended to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety during peak times by the Traffic Safety Committee and approved by the Brookings City Council. The public is advised to drive cautiously through these areas and be aware of the new two-way stop signs,” according to a press release from the city.
