Storage units burgled south of Brookings

BROOKINGS – Several storage units were burglarized south of Brookings, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The damage was reported at 10:25 a.m. Monday and occurred at Dakota Mini Storage at 3500 Main Ave. S., just south of Brookings, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

“Upon arrival it was found that several of the locks had been cut off of several sheds with what is believed to be a bolt cutter,” Sebring said.

The burglaries are believed to have happened sometime between Friday to when they were found on Monday, he added.

“The amount of property stolen is unknown at this time,” Sebring said.
