Take care of your lawn; keep making progress

In my most recent recap mailing of our city utilities billing, there was information in respect to a new yard waste cart.

This I’m glad to see so that our employees don’t have to lift the heavy bags. However, it would save further time and expense to all if the lawn care people and residents who mow their own grass would leave clippings on the yard, as according to agronomists there is nitrogen and other nutrients that would simply be returned into the ground. Also, it’s recommended that grass be left at a length of 3 inches to not have as much evaporation and allow clipping an area to fall for ground cover.

Now then, it’s gratifying to see the positive progress toward construction of ramp and overpass from I-29 to 20th Street South. I wish to thank all who’ve made efforts toward this progressive project. For additional welfare, for the future good of our community – keep up the good work of planning for a recreation center with many amenities.
