BRUCE – Two teens were injured in a rollover accident about 7:30 p.m. Monday north of Bruce, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

Kaytlyn Hawley, 15, and Sophia Hall, 14, both of Estelline, were transported to the Brookings hospital by the Estelline Ambulance with unknown injuries, said Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring.

Hawley was driving a 2001 GMC Yukon west on 198th Street just west of 466th Avenue and lost control of the vehicle on loose gravel, Sebring said.

“The vehicle then entered the north ditch. The vehicle then came back onto the roadway where it rolled over onto its side,” Sebring said.

There were three passengers in the vehicle and all occupants were wearing seatbelts, Sebring said.

The Yukon sustained $5,000 worth of damages.

Also responding were the Bruce Fire Department and Estelline Fire Department.

The accident is under investigation with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
