Terry L. Hakinson, 65, died Thursday, April 13 at the Arlington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Arlington.
Memorial services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Rude’s Funeral Home in Brookings. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at Rude’s Funeral Home.
Terry was born July 11, 1951, to Grace Mae (Hicks) Hakinson and Anton ‘Swede’ Hakinson. Terry lived his years before graduation in the states of South Dakota and Wisconsin. He graduated from White in 1969.
Terry worked in the SDSU Physical Plant and Avera Clinic in Brookings. He also served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1974 when he was honorably discharged. Terry enjoyed spending his time fishing and camping.
Terry is survived by his wife, Barbara (Borstad) Hakinson of Brookings; daughters, Sheila (Hakinson) Miller, Patricia (Hakinson) Myers, and Jessie Hakinson; a brother, Gerald (Donna) Hakinson; sister, Mavis Davis of Pierre; six grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
