Theobald breaks pool record in SDSU’s defeat of UNO

BROOKINGS – Ashley Theobald broke a pool record as South Dakota State won nine of the 16 events and beat Omaha 162-138 in a women’s swimming and diving dual Friday evening.

Theobald broke the record in the 400-yard IM, posting a winning time of 4 minutes, 37.65 seconds. She was also first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.26).

Emily Pincus was a double winner as well, taking the titles in the 200 free (1:54.92) and 500 free (5:11.31).

Elisabeth Timmer was victorious in the 100 free in 52.55 and Maria Currie placed first in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:55.92.

Abbi Rouse posted the top score in the 1-meter dive (216.44) and Quincee Simonson did the same in the 3-meter dive (226.06).

Pincus, Timmer, Katie Drezen and Grace Witherspoon crossed first in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a 3:34.29 clocking.

The Augustana Invite is Nov. 21-23 in Sioux Falls.
