SIOUX FALLS – Third-seeded Sioux Falls Christian crushed top-seeded Miller, 25-17, 25-14 and 25-12, to defend its Class A title.
Kylee Van Egdom tallied 10 kills, 10 digs and four block assists to lead the Chargers, 31-8, as Samantha Fykstra put up 22 set assists.
Kadye Fernholz led the Rustlers, 30-3, with 13 kills and 15 digs as Rachel Oliqmueller notched 19 set assists.
Third Place
The second-seeded Fighting Cougars dropped the first set, 25-17, but then won three straight – 25-14, 25-19 and 25-19 – to take third place.
McKenna Kranz had 16 kills and 20 digs for MCM, 26-5. Emily Bies finished with 37 assists and 14 digs while Jacy Pulse collected a team-high 21 digs.
Carlie Corder led the Huskies, 28-7, with 12 kills as Karly Marx put up 21 set assists. Ally Nearman notched a match-high 28 digs while Meghan Brewer chipped in with 18.
Fifth Place
The Pheasants took the fifth set, 15-10, over the Warriors to capture fifth place.
Parker took Sets 1 and 3 – 25-22 and 25-19 – but Winner forced a fifth set by taking the second and fourth sets – 26-24 and 27-25.
Grace Leberman totaled 21 kills and 49 digs; Karley Peters had 18 kills and 25 digs; Raelin Jurgens finished with 13 kills and eight block assists; and Hannah Even notched 62 set assists and 26 digs as the Pheasants finished 28-8.
Morgan Hammerbeck led the Warriors, 27-5, with 37 kills and 30 digs, while Mackenzie Levi (42) and Addy Root (17) combined for 59 set assists.
Seventh Place
The Cavaliers placed seventh with the sweep, but the Lady Comets made them earn it as they got stronger as the match wore on.
Roncalli took Set 1, 25-17, and then held on, 25-23 and 31-29, to finish with a 22-8 record.
Mariah Winegar had 11 kills, two solo blocks and two block assists while Jori Ewart notched 10 kills and 10 digs, to go along with a solo block and a block assist. Megan Streier put up 30 set assists and collected 16 digs as Madelyn Martin led the defense with 20 digs.
Kayla Clewley’s 12 kills and six block assists led RCC at the net; Riley Freeland totaled 26 set assists and 14 digs; and Rebecca Morgan collected 19 digs as the Lady Comets finished 25-15.
