BROOKINGS – The Brookings George Dokken No. 2118 Auxiliary hosted the Third Sunday Breakfast on Feb. 16. The nonprofit organization that helped serve the breakfast was the Brookings Community Harvest Table.
The Harvest Table has helped local residents for several decades. The services that the Harvest Table provides go far beyond a hot, home-cooked meal and a place to socialize.
The services have evolved to groceries, personal hygiene and baby supplies.
The breakfast attendance determines the profit that is presented to the serving group. This month, the profit for the Harvest Table was $600. The profit is from the breakfast and any donations made by the breakfast patrons.
