Three MVFC teams ranked in top 5

ST. LOUIS – For the fifth time in league history, three Missouri Valley Football Conference schools are in the top 5 in a national poll.

North Dakota State is No. 1, South Dakota State No. 4 and Northern Iowa No. 5 in the STATS FCS poll. Illinois State checks in at No. 11, while South Illinois and Youngstown State are receiving votes.

The league previously had three teams in the top five on Sept. 28, 2015 and on Sept. 11, 18 and 25, 2017.

In the FCS Coaches’ poll this week, the Bison are No. 1, the Jackrabbits No. 4, the Panthers No. 7 and the Redbirds No. 12. The Salukis are receiving votes.
