BROOKINGS – After recording the second-most regular season wins in the NCAA last year with five, the South Dakota State women's golf team has a 2017 fall schedule that looks to add to the win total.

"All of the hard work, wins and consistent performances our women's program has been putting in the last three years have paid off, getting us invites to many of the top college tournaments this year," Director of Golf Casey VanDamme said. "Our women will get the opportunity to play against many top fields this season and we look forward to the opportunity to compete."

The Jackrabbits won three of their five fall tournaments last year and make return appearances in two tournaments-UNO Invitational and MSU Payne Stewart Memorial.

SDSU again opens the season in the UNO Invitational Sept. 1-2. Four Jacks finished in the top seven as the team won by 25 strokes over Summit League member North Dakota State.

State looks for its second consecutive win at the MSU Payne Stewart Memorial Sept. 11-12. Sophomore-to-be Teresa Toscano shot a team-low 71 in the final round to tie for 13th. It is the seventh consecutive season the Jacks are playing in the tournament.

The Jackrabbits' three new tournaments end their fall season, beginning with the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Gonzaga is hosting the first-year tournament Sept. 26-27.

South Dakota State will compete against four-time Summit League champion Denver for the first time during the regular season when it plays in the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate Oct. 6-8 at Highlands Ranch in Colorado. The Pioneers finished second to Pepperdine in last year's tournament.

State makes its first trip of the season to Nevada and the Boulder Creek Golf Club, site of the 2018 Summit League Championship, where it plays in the 15th annual Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Oct. 22-24. UNLV, which won its second consecutive Mountain West Conference title this past spring, finished second behind then-No. 29 Baylor in last year's 19-team tournament.
