Tigers topple Bobcats, 61-35

HARRISBURG – The Tigers limited Brookings to single-digit scoring in three quarters to cruise to a 61-35 Eastern South Dakota Conference boys’ basketball win on Friday night.

Harrisburg led 13-5 after eight minutes and 28-19 at halftime before pushing its advantage to 47-26 through three quarters on the way to picking up its second win of the season.

The Bobcats shot a respectable 7-of-18 (39 percent) from beyond the arc, but they finished 9-of-37 overall (24 percent) as they dropped to 1-2 and 1-2 in the ESD.

Riley Schafer scored 11 points while Josh Sell added seven and Jacob Engen chipped in with five. Drew Cole finished with four points and seven rebounds as Harrisburg won the battle on the glass, 36-25.

Brady Holland dropped 12 points and Chase Altenburg had 11 as Ace Zorr corralled 12 boards.

Brookings plays host to Mitchell on Tuesday night at Bob Jostad Gymnasium.
