ELMHURST, Ill. – After turning in her best performance of the season so far against nationally ranked teams, South Dakota State’s Teresa Toscano was named Summit League Female Golfer of the Week, announced Thursday by the league office.
The sophomore led the Jackrabbits at the Hurricane Invitational earlier this week, shooting a season-best three-round 223 (73-76-74) to tie for 17th – also a season-best – in the 75-player field. She collected six birdies in the tournament and beat two players in the top 60 in the NCAA (No. 20 & No. 60).
For the season, Toscano leads SDSU and ranks fifth in the conference with a 73.8 stroke average over 15 rounds. She has five rounds of par-or-better.
Toscano and the Jackrabbits return to action Monday and Tuesday with the ninth annual Jackrabbit Invitational in Nevada.
