Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign is back

BROOKINGS – Tough Enough is back, and it’s stronger than cancer.

The Swiftel Center’s annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign kicked off Thursdy and goes through October. All proceeds from the Tough Enough campaign are donated to Brookings Health System Foundation, which means 100% of campaign efforts support the local community right here in Brookings.

The 2022 “United we stand in the fight against breast cancer” design features American flag styling with the breast cancer pink ribbon and the word “FIGHT” in pink. The shirt is the signature soft style in black.

T-shirts will be available for purchase at the Swiftel Center’s Active Heating Box Office, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

New this year, shirts can be purchased at the Tough Enough online store anytime at swiftelcenter.com/ToughEnoughStore with options for pickup or delivery.

Adult sizes S through XL are $15 ($17 for 2XL or 3XL). There is an additional fee for delivery included in the price of the delivered T-shirt options ($20 or $22).

Group sales and company orders can be placed by completing the group sales form at the bottom of the Tough Enough online store at swiftelcenter.com/ToughEnoughStore.

This October, the Swiftel Center is once again challenging the Brookings community to think pink. Businesses are asked to designate one day a week as “Think Pink” day on which employees can wear the Tough Enough to Wear Pink T-shirts.

Funds raised by the 2022 Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign will be used locally to promote local cancer screening benefits, such as regular mammograms. Funds will also help provide information about the importance of breast self-examination and promote resources that are available for patients at Avera Medical Group Brookings and Brookings Health System.

More than $64,715 has been raised to-date through the annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign. The Swiftel Center works with Brookings Health System Foundation to effectively distribute funds. Thanks to community support, the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign has assisted many cancer patients in Brookings County with 100% of proceeds staying local. This year’s goal of $4,000 has been set to be raised by the end of the campaign.
