Treiber: Keli Books for school board

Letter to the editor

How do we as a community put children at the core?

What are we doing to support the emotional and intellectual wellbeing of our students?

How are we helping all children find success no matter their learning style or challenge they face?

I have known Keli Books for almost 10 years, and these questions are the common thread woven into almost every conversation we have. As a former educator and learning advocate, Keli thinks critically about how we lift up and support early learning in order to provide students a firm foundation for their K-12 education.

Moving forward, she is committed to reducing learning disruptions created by the recent pandemic while providing focused support for teachers, students, and their families. She also believes in the value of school spaces and how they can be used creatively as an additional teacher to support learning.

I am voting for Keli because she exhibits the experience, passion, and ability to think innovatively about how to support a school system that puts student success and wellbeing at its core while also advocating for teachers, district personnel and the parents who place children in their care. I encourage you to support Keli for school board.
