Trifon K. Theodosopoulos, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at Brookings Health System in Brookings.

Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Brookings. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday with a 3:30 p.m. Trisagion prayer service at Rude’s Funeral Home in Brookings.  Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Trifon Konstantine Theodosopoulos was born on May 4, 1933, to Konstandinos and Vasiliki (Andreanopoulos) in Pikerni Arcadia Greece.  He married Niki (Aggelakos) on Jan. 24, 1960. Trifon emigrated with his family to the United States in 1972 in order to provide a better life for his beloved wife and sons. They settled in Brookings to be close to family and quickly came to love their new hometown. Trifon proudly became a citizen in 1979 and often spoke gratefully of the opportunities and kindness extended to his family.

Trifon opened Trifon’s Shoe Repair in 1973. He enjoyed having coffee with his customers ,and they were in awe of his memory; he never needed to write a repair ticket, but remembered everyone’s name.  Out of thousands of soles that he replaced, not one soul can replace his. Trifon acquired the Downtown Laundry in 1976, where he looked forward to visiting with customers and making sure they were happy with the services that were provided.  He will long be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit and always helping anyone in need.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family.  Trifon was a member of Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Sioux Falls.  His strong faith in God sustained him through many difficult health issues.  Trifon enjoyed gardening, visiting with family and friends, and watching his favorite soccer, baseball and football teams.

Trifon is survived by his wife of 57 years, Niki; sons, Kosta (Kathy), Sarantis  (Mona Rae) and Bill (Shellie) all of Brookings; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Dimitrios (Karen) of Brookings and George (Vasiliki) of Aurora, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.

Trifon was preceded in death by his brothers, Evangelos Theodosopoulos and Spyridon Theodosopoulos; sister, Despina Andrianakos and daughter-in-law, Aileen Theodosopoulos.
