WACO, Texas – South Dakota State’s Claire Garduno, Whitney Vesey and Catelyn Hall were named Rider of the Week by the United Equestrian Conference, as announced Monday afternoon.
Garduno earned Equitation over Fences Rider of the Week for her performance during SDSU's two meets Friday and Saturday. The junior from Minneapolis went 2-0 in her fences rides, defeating her Oklahoma State opponent 76-74 and her Delaware State opponent 79-40.
Vesey was named Horsemanship Rider of the Week after winning both of her rides. The senior from Indianola, Iowa, topped her OSU opponent 75-67 and her DSU opponent 73-72.5.
Hall, a junior from Neligh, Neb., rounded out the Jackrabbit honorees, earning Reining Rider of the Week following a 70.5-68.5 win over her OSU.
SDSU wrapped up the regular season over the weekend and now gears up for the UEC Championships on March 22-23 in Martin, Tenn.
