CLEVELAND – South Dakota State seniors Evan Greeneway and Christian Rozeboom have been named to the 2019 Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team for their efforts both on the field and in the classroom.
A Yankton native, Greeneway was honored with a 3.73 undergraduate GPA as a civil engineering major. A two-year starter at left tackle, he is currently enrolled in graduate school.
Rozeboom, originally from Sioux Center, Iowa, earned a spot on the 53-player squad with a 3.29 GPA while majoring in animal science. He finished his career as the Jackrabbits’ career leader in tackles with 475, including a team-best 111 stops in 2019.
Nominees were required to have a minimum GPA of 3.2 in undergraduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletics credentials. They also must be in their at least their second year of athletics and academic standing and have participated in at least 50 percent of the games at their designated position. Schools were limited to two nominees.
SDSU has had at least one student-athlete honored on the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team each of the last 14 seasons. Cory Koenig (2007), Ryan Berry (2008), Zach Zenner (2014) and Taryn Christion (2018) were also honored as FCS ADA Postgraduate Scholarship recipients.
