AURORA – One person was transported to the hospital after two pickups collided in rural Aurora, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident was reported at 8 a.m. Friday and occurred at 476th Avenue and 211th Street north of Aurora, said Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring.

Dustin Brown, 27, of Brookings, was driving a 2009 Ford F250 Superduty truck northbound on 476th Avenue, and Tennie Larson, 44, of Bushnell, was driving a 1999 Chevy Silverado west on 211th Street.

The two vehicles collided at the uncontrolled intersection, he said.

Mark Molengraaf, 43, of White was a passenger in Brown’s truck and was transported to the Brookings hospital by the Brookings Ambulance with unknown injuries.

There were two passengers in Larson’s truck who were treated on the scene by the Brookings Ambulance and released. Both trucks were deemed total losses.

“Brown was issued a citation for failure to yield at right of way intersection,” Sebring said.

Also responding were the Aurora First Responders.

The accident is under investigation with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
