USAF band to return to Brookings

BROOKINGS – Patriotism and uplifting music will join forces later this month when the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band returns to Brookings for a free community concert.

The concert is set for 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at the SDSU Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets to the free concert are available at The Brookings Register office at 312 Fifth St. and at the customer service department at Hy-Vee, 790 22nd Ave. S. Seating is limited and tickets often “sell out” early, so pick up yours today.

The United States Air Force Heartland of America Band is a 15-member ensemble that presents exciting and uplifting music to inspire patriotism and tell the Air Force story.

From formal concerts in grand auditoriums to casual shows in the park, the group demonstrates Air Force excellence and precision in every performance.

A combination of two ensembles, their extensive repertoire ranges from classic to contemporary, jazz to country and pop to rock. The musical diversity of this group makes lasting connections with audiences of all ages.

Its members professional Airmen, the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band honors American military veterans for their selfless sacrifice at every performance, and shares the message of excellence, courage and commitment displayed every day by the brave men and women of the United States Air Force serving throughout the world.
