USD tops SDSU 6-1

SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota defeated South Dakota State 6-1 in a Summit League women’s tennis dual Saturday afternoon at Match Pointe.

The Jackrabbits’ Iasmin Rosa won the No. 1 singles match. She led Ellie Burns 5-0 in the set when Burns retired.

The Coyotes (7-14, 3-2) won the other five singles matches after winning two of the three doubles matches to earn an additional point.

Rosa and Morgan Brower dropped Nanette Nylund and Anastasia Bondarenko 6-3 in the No. 1 doubles match.

SDSU (2-17, 0-4) plays at IUPUI on Friday and Western Illinois on Saturday to close out the season.
