Vandal damages signs in Volga

VOLGA – The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of intentional damage to signs in Volga in the early morning hours of Monday.

The damage involved graffiti on a decorative sign in the 200 block of Kasan Avenue and on a speed limit sign on Sixth Street near Caspian Avenue, according to Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring in a news release.

Officials in Volga estimated the damage total at $200. The damage occurred between midnight and 3 a.m. Monday, according to the release, and the incidents remain under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
