BROOKINGS – The VFW Auxiliary Youth Program supports a project called “Patriotism Through Literacy.” The Youth Program is chaired by Jan Olson. To support this project, the auxiliary gives books to all the Brookings schools. The final two schools to receive their books were Medary Elementary and Hillcrest Elementary.

Each of the school librarians were contacted, and books were selected for the school’s library. This year both schools received books from the “I Survived” series.
