Wanda Lee Dooley, age 61, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, in Bruce, South Dakota at her farm. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2021,  at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wanda Lee Hruska was born July 8, 1959, in Mobridge, South Dakota to Lillie and LoVern Hruska. She obtained a G.E.D. and proceeded to marry and have three children, whom were the light of her life along with her future grandchildren.
Early in her life, she worked alongside her father building bridges for Sioux Falls Construction and after having her first child, began working at SDSU as a Custodial Crew-leader. She bought a farm near Bruce with her parents, where she remained until her death.
Wanda enjoyed working with a number of animals on her farm and enjoying life with her children and family. Living on a farm had been her dream. She made a lifetime of memories for everyone that loved her there.
As she progressed through life, Wanda held multiple managerial positions in different industries. She excelled at anything she put her mind to. She was adored by everyone she worked with.
She was considered the ‘purdy” by her and her sisters. She was passionate about crafting, gardening, working with her hands and her grandchildren.
Wanda is survived by her daughters,  Jamie Brinkman of Brookings, SD and Wendy Brinkman of Sioux Falls, SD; her grandchildren, Drew Brinkman, Devon, Lane and Austin Lambertz, Jesse Brinkman, Rayna, Liam and Killian Boynton, Cayden Brinkman, Zaida and Bowen Wiegert; her sisters, Pamela Pearson of Castlewood, SD, Donna (Bryan) Crawford of Frederick, SD, Teri (Todd) Hutchens of Lake Crystal, MN, Roberta (Tracy) Smith of Good Thunder, MN along with a host of nieces, newphews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LoVern and Lillie Hruska, son, Joseph Brinkman and two brothers, Robbin and Bobby.
