BROOKINGS – “They are big; they are strong; they are fast.”

Those were the words that Bobcat assistant coach Scott Miller said after the Bobcats’ 51-0 loss to Sioux Falls Washington at DJD Stadium on Friday night.

Brookings held its own early in the game, but after a scoreless first quarter, the Warriors exploded for 31 points in the second to take control.

Washington got on the scoreboard with 10 minutes left in the first half on Brock Walker’s 39-yard field goal.

From there, the Warriors tacked on four touchdowns – a 7-yard run to paydirt by quarterback Jayden Johannsen; a 21-yard scoring strike from Johannsen to Logan Uttecht; Will Farniok’s 2-yard plunge; and another Johannsen to Uttecht hookup from 31 yards out – to lead 31-0 at halftime as Walker nailed all four PAT kicks.

Washington added to its lead with two third-quarter scores and another touchdown to open the fourth for the final margin.

For the game, the Warriors held a 445-126 advantage in yardage as they improved to 6-0 on the season.
