Washington sweeps BHS in bowling


SIOUX FALLS – Sioux Falls Washington swept Brookings in high school bowling action Friday at Eastway.

The Warriors handed the Bobcat boys their first loss of the season, 37-13, while the girls won 42-8.

Dylan Cramer paced the Brookings boys with a 567 (224-205-138) series. Gabe Boyer had a 529 (157-175-197) series, Lee Krueger a 486 (136-211-139), Alex Couser a 478 (173-144-161) and Mason McManus a 469 (132-155-182). Evan Vernarsky contributed games of 121 and 153 and Stanley Scubelek had a 142.

For the girls, Brooklyn Hieb led the way with a 519 (199-165-155) series. Ellie Fitzpatrick had a 514 (157-172-185) series and Kyra Ernst a 510 (172-145-193). Erin Hulberg rolled games of 151 and 160, Katlyn Pederson 147 and 105, Brooke Seeley 110 and 159, Catelyn Vernarsky 110, Abby Fitzpatrick 108 and Kacee Rhody 104.

The Bobcats prevailed 41-9 in the junior varsity girls’ matchup.

Teagen Bremmon had a 403 (114-118-171) series, Janine Warne a 389 (143-125-121), Joy Warne a 365 (102-134-129) and Megan Seeley a 229 (80-81-68). Rhody tallied games of 121 and 143, Hulberg 203, Brooke Seeley 163, Abby Fitzpatrick 157 and 144, Catelyn Vernarsky a pair of 131s and Pederson 104.

Washington won the JV boys’ match 46-4.

Dylan Scubelek had a 381 (96-148-137) series, Tyler Cameron a 345 (99-132-114), Travis Block a 326 (121-107-98) and Aarick Dicke a 255 (106-66-83). Stanley Scubelek had games of 158 and 190 and Evan Vernarsky 174.
